Partnership & Project Officer (Part-Time)

Are you passionate about community engagement, partnership working and delivering impactful projects? We're looking for a dynamic Partnership and Projects Officer on a part time basis to join our team and help drive forward initiatives that support our Corporate Plan and improve our town!
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of local regeneration, civic engagement, and partnership development. You'll collaborate with internal teams, businesses, external agencies and community stakeholders to delivery high-profile projects, events and funding bids that make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development and Stakeholder Coordination
- Identify and maintain links with local businesses, regional agencies and community partners.
- Coordinate strategic partner delivery on high street and public realm initiatives, including transport-linked access improvements.
- Represent the Council in forums, business engagement sessions and cross-agency initiatives.
Project Delivery and Improvement Planning
- Manage day-to-day delivery of specific externally funded projects and pop-up initiatives.
- Support feasibility studies and asset reviews to identify suitable training, enterprise or community spaces.
- Prepare documentation for audit, outcome monitoring and lessons learned.
Engagement and Insight Collection
- Coordinate public walking survey, business engagement sessions and town-wide improvement audits.
- Support internal workshops to review public realm improvements, cleanliness and maintenance priorities.
- Promote participatory approaches and ensure feedback is reported to officers and Members.
Event Planning and Civic Showcasing
- Lead Council delivery of the Annual Town Meeting and civic showcase events.
- Liaise with community groups, businesses and stakeholders to ensure representative and professional promotion of civic activities.
Funding and Bid Support
- Support the development and submission of external funding applications.
- Track funding timelines, delivery outcomes and associated project performance.
Cross-Team Support
- Assist colleagues across services by supporting grant-related activities, event preparation and stakeholder meetings.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- NVQ Level 4 or higher in Public Services, Project Coordination, Community Engagement or a relevant subject.
- Project delivery and coordination across teams.
- Stakeholder communication and professional relationship-building.
- Community engagement and consultation delivery.
- Funding bid support and documentation management.
- Professionalism and responsiveness when representing the Council.
Desirable:
- Experience contributing to funding applications, monitoring reports and delivering grant-funded projects.
- Knowledge of town centre regeneration, economic development, or placemaking principles.
- Understanding of local government Corporate Plan priorities and KPI frameworks.
- Familiarity with online engagement tools and platforms such as Eventbrite, Miro, or other digital consultation tools.
- Experience using CRM systems or partnership management software.
- Previous experience working in a local government, public or voluntary section setting.
